DOQ PRIORAT

The Qualified Designation of Origin (DOQ) Priorat is a wine region located in the Priorat region, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia. It is one of the most prestigious denominations in Spain and is characterized by its high-quality wines and personality.

Wines from Priorat are mainly produced with the grape varieties Garnacha and Cariñena, although other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot are also used. These vineyards are planted on steep, rocky terrain known as "licorellas", which provide a unique minerality to the wines.

Priorat wines are known for their concentration, structure, and depth. Red wines are intense and powerful, with aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and mineral notes. White wines, although less common, are usually fresh and aromatic.
